Sportcaster Camp The purpose of this camp is to provide authentic project experience for students interested in working in production; our goal is to provide real experience in production, with equipment and industry pro’s. Students will experience a week of realistic television production.  They will get valuable time with today’s top level  production personnel on actual production gear creating a final project - a live broadcast.
Filmmaking Camp   The Filmmaking Camp lasts for one week, and is designed for teens between the ages of 13-17 that have little or no film making experience. The camp offers teens an overview on the basic techniques of digital production and post-production. Learning about the elements of the feature film, from directing to cinematography, production design and editing, students will come away from camp with an understanding of creating a short film from script to premiere.
Acting Camp This week will be filled with ways to get comfortable acting in front of the camera.  Exercises and Improvisations will be explored to tap into your natural abilities or adjust already existing stage acting skills. Audition techniques, "cold and prepared" readings are all shot on camera, preparing for the "big day" of an actual shoot of scripted material.  You will also talk to professionals in the business that will guide you in make up and wardrobe  needs for your headshot and for your session with a photographer.
Music Video Camp Over the course of one week, students are taught the most essential elements of what goes into the making of a music video.  The music video workshop students will make a short music video after auditioning bands  from Portland's School of Rock program - http://www.schoolofrock.com/portland. The chosen band will become their “client” and they will develop the look and feel of their video while working with the band. A completed video will be screen at the end of camp and at a School of Rock concert.

Movie Camp Break Down NW Production Center

Do you want to spend your summer being creative rather than competitive?

This summer, teens & young adults with a passion for filmmaking, acting and sportscasting will come together to learn the fundamentals of producing a short film, music video or broadcast journalism along side local industry professionals. Movie Camp is unlike any other program in Portland, in that all of the campers are working together to see their project grow from the idea to a red carpet premiere.

Movie Camp is a day camp set at Cine Rent West, the largest professional production soundstage in Portland, OR. Classes are composed of 15 students and are divided into three sessions. Students are taught by industry professionals and guest lecturers, and will gain a firm grasp in the concepts of media and be able to apply their understandings while using industry grade equipment to create a short film. Classes have overlapping schedules so that the students from different camps will work together and gain a more intensive movie making experience. At the end of the project each student will come away with a DVD of the finished film, and a lot of great work to add to their college applications.

Additionally there is a one week Music Video Camp, where students will audition and accept a local band as their client, and create a music video from concept to finished product.
